Graduate students honored with awards

At the 2016 Graduate Student Oath Ceremony held Aug. 19, 2016, a number of Penn State College of Medicine graduate students received awards for the academic accomplishments and/or their contributions to the campus community.

Stephanie Schell was awarded the Richard J. Courtney Graduate Student Prize, and Robert Nwokonko received the Patrick G. Quinn Award for Outstanding Performance by a Post-Comprehensive PhD Candidate.

Graduate Alumni Endowed Scholarship and the Class of 1971 and 1974 Awards

These awards recognize the contributions to the Penn State College of Medicine campus that have had a positive impact on their graduate colleagues and classmates.

Specifically, these students are extremely active in student organizations and activities which contribute to the graduate experience at the College of Medicine.

Alumni Society Awards

These individuals have achieved exemplary academic records, and have additionally provided their colleagues and the College of Medicine community with examples of involvement above and beyond the expected.

Karl H. Beyer Jr. MD/PhD Scholarship

This award is given for academic excellence and leadership.

Junior Mentors Program

The junior mentors were paired with one or more undergraduate students for the summer. They helped the summer interns learn basic lab techniques, prepare an abstract, perfect an oral presentation and prepare a Journal Club presentation.
