Harrell Health Sciences Library Newsletter
October 2020

Director's note

Harrell Health Sciences Library reopened on July 13, 2020. We have limited capacity and limited hours.

However, after Labor Day we did return the library to 24/7 access for all faculty, staff and students of the medical center.

The College of Medicine still prohibits visitors to our building and thus to the library at this time.

We staff the desk minimal hours to facilitate less exposure for our library team. The library has not been as busy as before COVID, but nothing has returned to pre-COVID levels as people continue to be safe. However, we know that the people using the library currently appreciate our being there. We have also been making changes at the library to adapt to the needs of our users.

There are two new book clubs here at Hershey that are open to all. One is hosted by Harrell Library (HHSL Passport Book Club) and the other by the College of Medicine's Humanities department (A year of Connecting through Fiction: Five Compelling Books by African American Authors). Information about both book clubs and their book selections can be found here.

A reminder that October is National Medical Librarian Month. To learn more about being a medical librarian or what we can partner with you on in the future, visit the Medical Library Association website.

Stay safe and well.
