Director's note
Happy New Year! I hope this finds you healthy and well.
The year of 2020 has been a doozy. As I write this, we celebrate the first doses of vaccine administered in the United States. I feel like I’ve just run a long race and I can see the finish line. I’m exhausted, excited and hopeful. I hope you are hopeful too.

We had many accomplishments in the Harrell Library in 2020. We learned how to serve our patrons remotely. We closed then opened the library (to internal users only for now). We discovered that we were armed with Zoom knowledge that was essential to many people across the institution. We continued to answer reference questions and teach classes. We hosted an exhibit. We started a book club. We offered online workshops and provided digital interlibrary loans.
2021 will start out the same. We have hope that we will return to normal, but for now we will continue to have the library open with masks required. We will continue to offer our services primarily online but with knowledge that as the year progresses we will see a return to some pre-COVID operating procedures like having visitors back on campus and in the library.
We are looking forward to seeing you all in the future. Stay safe and well.
