
An evening with Beth Macy, author of ‘Raising Lazarus’

The Midtown Scholar Bookstore and Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Humanities are honored to welcome journalist Beth Macy to Harrisburg on Aug 24, 2022 at 7 p.m. at the Midtown Scholar Bookstore, 1302 North 3rd Street, Harrisburg, Pa, for an in-person conversation and book signing on her new book, “Raising Lazarus: Hope, Justice, and the Future of America’s Overdose Crisis.” In the book, Macy delivers a “deeply reported, deeply moving” account of everyday heroes fighting on the front lines of the overdose crisis.
Beth Macy is a Virginia-based journalist, the author of “Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors, and the Drug Company That Addicted America,” and an executive producer and co-writer on Hulu’s Peabody Award-winning “Dopesick” series.
This event is free and open to the public, with registration. This is an in-person event with a live-stream option via Zoom. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m., the event will begin at 7 p.m. Virtual attendees will receive the event access link 24 hours and 1 hour before the event begins.

Per the CDC, people are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine.
