Body Zone Lunch and Learn: Supervised Exercise Therapy for Claudication
February 25, 12:00 pm to 1:15 pm
Join Parker Dundore, Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center exercise physiologist, for a discussion on why supervised exercise therapy is the most effective treatment to improve walking ability, overall function and health-related quality of life in patients who experience claudication (leg pain). The goal of St. Joseph Medical Center’s exercise therapy program is to decrease the cramping, pain and discomfort patients experience through a progressive treadmill exercise program. Considered the first line of defense for peripheral arterial disease patients, supervised exercise therapy helps patients avoid the need for surgical intervention. It also prevents future interventions in patients who have previously undergone surgical revascularization.
This lunch and learn event is open to Body Zone members only. We ask that attendees wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.
