Commission for Women “Galentine’s Day Celebration” and prom dress collection
February 13 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Penn State Commission for Women is holding a “Galentine’s Day” celebration.
Rather than an anti-Valentine’s day, Galentine’s Day is a day for friends to come together to celebrate each other, no matter what their relationship status is.
Special guest Leigh Hitz-Miller, a member of the Lebanon County Commission for Women and chair of the Glass Slipper Project, will speak about the benefits of the Glass Slipper prom dress collection project that is part of the celebration.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch and join activities to promote positive conversations.
About the Prom Dress Collection
Penn State Commission for Women in Hershey is partnering with the Lebanon County Commission for Women in the 12th annual Glass Slipper gently used prom dress collection event.
All dresses must be cleaned and on hangers. Donated dresses may be brought to the Galentine’s Day event on Feb. 13 or dropped off from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, in Room C1742K in Penn State College of Medicine.
Dresses from friends and family outside the institution are welcomed. The goal of the Commission for Women in Hershey is to donate at least 20 formalwear dresses. Dresses will be sold for $10 per dress on Feb. 21 and 22 at the Lebanon Valley Mall.
