Webinar: Digital Accessibility – An essential aspect of disability inclusion and why it matters to the Penn State Health community
November 10, 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
Digital accessibility means that people with disabilities can interact with online content and participate independently in digital programs.
Without accessibility, students, staff, doctors, patients and the wider community with disabilities are excluded from Penn State Health programs.
Accessibility is inclusion.
This session will provide participants with practical information (including best practices and a legal framework) to ensure programs are accessible to a wide range of people, including people with disabilities.
Featured speaker Lainey Feingold is a disability rights lawyer who has worked to make the digital world more inclusive since 1995. She is an international speaker and serves as the Digital Accessibility Resource for the business-to-business nonprofit Disability:IN. Learn more about her work here.
Registration is required, with a Zoom link to be provided after registration.
The session will be recorded, and participation will constitute consent to be recorded. Those with questions, or who require accommodation of a disability to participate, should email email@example.com.
Auto captions will be provided through PPT 365 (Microsoft).
This event is presented by the Penn State Health Dauphin County Disability Business Employee Resource Group, Penn State Health’s Office for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Penn State College of Medicine.
