Dr. Chen earned his PhD degree in Operations Research from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2016. His research focuses on applications of mathematical modeling and operations research methods in healthcare settings, including stochastic and dynamic modeling for population health policies, and comprehensive simulation models for health economic evaluation.
He has been closely collaborating with clinicians and health practitioners from various health research institutes such as Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Boston Medical Center and Harvard Medical School. He won the first prize of 2016 INFORMS Decision Analysis Society Student Paper Competition and honorable mention in the 2016 Public Sector Operations Research Best Paper Competition.
