Highmark Walk: Benefitting Head and Neck Cancer Research
June 4, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
The Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community is an annual fundraising event that benefits local organizations and helps to raise money for their individual missions.
The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery annually participates as team “Head N Neck R Us” to raise funds directly benefitting groundbreaking clinical, transitional (bench to bedside) and basic science research. Due to the efforts of the world-class surgeon-scientists and past generous support, great strides have been made in understanding, preventing and treating human papillomavirus as a cause of head and neck cancers, radiation-induced dry mouth, radiation-induced hypotension and carotid artery dysfunction, familial thyroid cancer, mental changes due to parathyroid disease and many, many, more research endeavors.
If you are unable to attend the walk, you can still be involved by making a donation to the “Head N Neck R Us” team. Find more information here on how to donate. Please feel free to contact Chelsalyn Corcoran or Veronica Fies with any questions. Thank you for your contributions to Penn State Health head and neck cancer research.
