Holi Party

March 30, 11:00 am to 2:00 pm

Holi, also known as the Festival of Colors, is a holiday celebrated predominantly in India and Nepal to welcome the arrival of spring! During Holi, people come together to play with colors, smearing each other with powdered pigments. Water guns and water-filled balloons are also super popular, adding to the merriment as people drench each other in colored water, dance to upbeat music, and come together as a community. This colorful festival transcends age, gender, and social boundaries, fostering unity and joy among participants. Holi is not just about playing with colors; it’s also a time for feasting on traditional sweets and savory dishes (which will be provided), sharing joyous moments with loved ones, and extending goodwill and forgiveness. The festival carries profound cultural and social significance, promoting inclusivity, harmony, and the celebration of life’s vibrancy. By hosting a Holi celebration, SASA and DGSG aim to foster a sense of belonging among students and faculty, regardless of their cultural background. Through participation in our Holi festivities, attendees will gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for different cultures, strengthening our campus’s commitment to inclusivity and cultural exchange!

Join this celebration on the softball fields outside Penn State College of Medicine starting at 11 a.m. March 30.
