Webinar: Inclusion Academy – Caring for Amish Patients

April 27, 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm

The Inclusion Academy, established by the Office for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is an educational program focused on providing students, faculty/staff and health care providers with cultural knowledge and understanding of various diverse/marginalized communities with the intention to foster diversity and inclusion in all facets of the organization.

With such a large Amish patient population seeking care at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, the objective of this session is for participants to further understand the culture, religiocultural beliefs on health care practices, social and family structure of the Amish, as well as the health implications of those things.

The session will be led by Steve Nolt, Professor of History and Anabaptist Studies at Elizabethtown College, and will be held via Zoom.
