Inclusion Academy – Dimensions of Diversity: Cancer Health Disparities in Pennsylvania focusing on Latino/Hispanic/LatinX populations

September 22, 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Learn about cancer health disparities among Latino/Hispanic/LatinX populations from Sol Rodríguez-Colón, research project manager in the Office for Cancer Health Equity at the Penn State Cancer Institute, and Dr. Eugene Lengerich, professor of public health sciences, associate director for health disparities and engagement, and director of the Community Sciences and Health Outcomes Shared Resource at Penn State Cancer Institute.
Participants will be able to
1. Identify common cancers affecting Hispanics/Latinos living in central Pennsylvania
2. Learn why these cancers have higher mortality among Hispanics/Latinos
3. Learn about the importance of patient navigation/promotores de salud
4. Identify evidence-based tools, resources, and new research for Hispanic/Latino individuals.
