Inclusion Academy: Experiential Learning – Disability and Health Care Access

This session is organized by the Office for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and is part of the Experiential Learning Series. These sessions focus on excellent patient care and a respectful, inclusive workplace. They explore the implications of diverse cultures, faiths and creeds on culturally responsive care, highlighting the best practices in serving diverse patients. Sessions are offered at 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
This session will center on disability and health care access.
During this discussion you will learn:
- Recognize what healthcare “accessibility” and “inclusiveness” mean for patients with disabilities
- To identify at least two kinds of accessibility barriers
- To identify ways to improve accessibility and inclusion for patients with disabilities

Experiential Learning Series is 11 expert-led “working” sessions, will focus on culturally and sensitive services (general knowledge).
