Inclusion Academy: Leadership Program for Managing Inclusion – Improving the Experiences of Patients and Employees with Disabilities
May 14 @ 11:00 am - 12:45 pm
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, one in five people has a disability. CDC director Tom Frieden stated “health professionals and health care systems need to meet the needs of this growing population.” (CDC Newsroom, July 30, 2015). One way to better support patients and employees with disabilities is to have online/digital accessibility. Is your department's digital presence accessible? How easy is it for a patient with a disability to schedule and participate in their medical appointment? If an employee wants to participate in online training or a virtual meeting, can they easily do so? In this session, you will learn about recent developments in digital accessibility as well as strategies for digital accessibility for patients and employees.
