
Independence Day celebration and concert planned at Hershey Medical Center
July 3, 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm

The Hershey Symphony Orchestra and Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center invite the community to celebrate Independence Day a day early with the 19th annual free concert on the lawn of Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. The orchestra’s performance on Sunday, July 3, 2022, entitled, “An American Salute” begins at 7:30 p.m.
Complimentary water and ice cream will be provided by Penn State Health. Food and drink for purchase will be offered by varied food trucks parked along the perimeter of the crowd.
The first half of the concert will feature songs from the silver screen including “Back to the Future”, “James Bond”, “Pirates of the Caribbean”, and the best of John Williams. For the second half of the concert, the Orchestra will present “A Salute to America”. These selections will celebrate America and provide a special tribute to the military. The concert is under the direction of Dr. Bob Sproul.
Parking is free and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. A freewill offering will be taken to benefit the Orchestra. In the case of rain, the concert will be held the following evening on July 4th. Masks are optional outside in the concert area, however masks are required to enter any of the buildings on campus. This will be re-evaluated closer to the concert date and is subject to change.
