LVAD Basics is a continuing education service of Penn State College of Medicine and Penn State Heart and Vascular Institute that is designed to provide didactic and hands-on education related to the care of left ventricular assist device (LVAD) patients residing in the community setting.
RNs, LPNs, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, medical assistants, emergency medical technicians and other medical team members from settings including emergency medical services in the field, long-term acute care facilities and skilled nursing facilities may benefit from attendance.
On each program date, morning and afternoon sessions are offered. The content for the sessions is the same.
