Penn State Health Inclusion Week: Lessons From the Pandemic: The Reality of Health Disparities and Trust in Research and Inclusion
June 14, 4:45 pm to 6:30 pm
Penn State Health Day of Understanding
In the 90s, conversations were taking place about the need and ways to advance inclusion within clinical trials. With the pandemic trials, this topic was revisited with almost a sense of “déjà vu.” Dr. Vivian Pinn, fellow of the college of American pathologists; senior scientist emerita at Fogarty International Center, National Institutes of Health (NIH); and former director of the Office of Research on Women’s Health at the NIH, will share thoughts on the importance of trust in research as a strategy for increasing inclusion and the realities of health disparities.
Those with questions or who require accommodation of a disability to participate should email diversity@pennstatehealth.psu.edu.
