Data Coordinating Centers are uniquely essential to the success of large clinical research networks. In this talk, Dr. David Mauger will present an overview of Data Coordinator Center operation from the Principal Investigator’s perspective. Mauger will use the ORBEX Study* and the impact of the COVID pandemic to illustrate some approaches to the kinds of challenges often faced in NIH-funded multicenter clinical research. He will discuss operational issues, such as budget and staffing, as well as technical issues related to preservation of scientific integrity.
