Join the PHS Seminar Series presentation on Tuesday, September 19th, at Noon to hear Dr. Sophia Allen, PhD, MBA, present her research in the areas of Health Services and Behavioral Research.
Title: Increasing Engagement and Smoking Abstinence among Adult Smokers Using the Pennsylvania Quitline Text Messaging Service
Dr. Sophia Allen is an Assistant Professor in the Center for Research on Tobacco and Health. She joined the faculty of Public Health Sciences in March 2022 after her postdoctoral training in tobacco regulatory science at the Penn State College of Medicine. Dr. Allen’s research interests focus on substance use (nicotine) and addiction among African American adults who smoke and improving the impact of mobile health (Health) interventions on smoking cessation to reduce health disparities. Dr. Allen is the recipient of a National Institutes of Health K award and pla develop and implement tailored mHealth smoking cessation interventions by using dynamic real-time assessments of behavior, experiences, and environmental factors.
