Preparing the Next Generation: An Overview of NIH Training Grants

Research Development invites you to attend a webinar with Hanover Research to break down NIH training grants. The NIH has multiple types of training grants that help institutions offer enhanced research training opportunities to individuals at multiple career stages. Training grants can be an effective way to support trainees interested in careers in biomedical, behavioral and clinical research – particularly those from diverse backgrounds.

- Review criteria and special considerations
- Best practices for fundable submissions

About the Presenter:
Steve Jax, Ph.D., Senior Grants Consultant, Higher Education
Steven provides Hanover and its higher education clients with grant reviews and writing support. He has experience in grant writing and proposal review for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation (NSF), Department of Defense (DoD), Administration of Community Living, U.K. Medical Research Council, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), and several private foundations. Before joining Hanover, Steven served as a research scientist for 14 years at a medical center research institute, working in the field of neurorehabilitation. During this time, he obtained funding from the NIH, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and a private foundation. In addition, he worked with several interdisciplinary teams (including engineers, physical therapists, neurologists, and computer scientists) to develop funded grants.
