Qualitative Research for Medical Students

This introductory workshop is for medical students who are interested in research that uses qualitative methodology, and/or who would like to learn more about collecting data via one-on-one interviewing.

The workshop will cover:

  • Overview of qualitative methods
  • Principles of interviewing individuals vs. groups
  • Application exercise
  • Framework for evaluation of interview data

Presenters are Cheryl Dellasega, PhD, Professor, Department of Humanities, Penn State College of Medicine; and Heather Stuckey-Peyrot, DEd, Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, Department of Public Health Sciences and Department of Humanities, Penn State College of Medicine.

Pizza and drinks will be provided.
