Savvy Grant Seeking for Trainees
January 17, 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
Research Development is offering two special topic workshops to focus on fellowship awards. Fellowship awards provide funds to promising predoctoral and postdoctoral scholars who aspire to become independent research scientists. These prestigious mentored awards can provide financial support (e.g. stipend and tuition), bolster CVs, and build important grant-seeking skills.
“Savvy Grant Seeking for Trainees” (Jan. 17)
This virtual workshop will be presented by Hanover Research. Featured speaker Sarah Ott, B.S., M.S., a Managing Grants Consultant for Hanover Research, will provide a broad overview of fellowship awards, eligibility criteria, and funding resources. Sarah will review the key ingredients of a competitive proposal. Special emphasis will be placed on the training plan and synergies with the research strategy. Key takeaways participants will gain from this workshop:
- Types of F Awards (e.g. NIH, foundations)
- Choosing the Right Research Question
- Designing a Training Plan that Integrates with your Research Plan
Audience Q&A is encouraged. All who register will receive a PDF of the slide deck and a link to the recording via email within 2-3 days of the workshop.
