The Penn State Health 22-Day Inclusion Challenge – June 3: Human Connections through Sharing Our Identities and Sharing Empathy

June 3

WEEK 1 – Theme: Foundation for Inclusion

June 3: Human Connections through Sharing Our Identities and Sharing Empathy

Penn State Health is committed to increasing the diversity of its workforce and creating an inclusive and respectful environment for our colleagues, patients, and those we educate. The first step is to recognize that we all have different aspects of diversity that it is important to share, as reflected in the first video from TV2 Denmark called “All That We Share.” But it is equally important to understand how we come together, despite those differences, to make a human connection with each other and with our patients. As reflected in the second video from the Cleveland Clinic, through those human connections, stepping into the shoes of others, we achieve respect for each other.

Activities:

  • Watch the “All That We Share” video here. Please note, there is some mature content. Running time is 3 minutes.
  • Watch the video, “The Human Connection to Patient Care from Cleveland Clinic here.  Running time is less than 5 minutes.

Please note: Some links may not be accessible on clinical workstations. Employees can view them on a nonclinical workstation or their personal device.
