Webinar: Collaboration Across Borders – Creating Coalitions in a Fragmented World
November 12, 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute will present “Collaboration Across Borders: Creating Coalitions in a Fragmented World” as its next Translational Science Seminar Series webinar.
Lara Bloom, president of The Ehlers-Danlos Society and academic affiliate professor of practice in patient engagement and global collaboration at Penn State College of Medicine, will present. Bloom will share how to build research coalitions with health care providers, patients and awareness groups like The Ehlers-Danlos Society. While using the example of rare disease research, Bloom’s discussion will offer practical lessons learned about uniting around a common goal.
Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute supported work related to Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes, a group of rare disorders of connective tissues, through its Bridges to Translation Pilot Grant Program. Rebecca Bascom, MD, and Jane Schubart, PhD, conducted two separate pilot projects concerning the disease.
Registration is required. A Zoom link will be provided to those who register.
The Translational Science Seminar Series: Bench to Bedside and Beyond encourages an engaged translational science workforce through panel discussions and practical application information.
