Webinar: GME Personal Finance – Retirement Planning and Accounts
April 7, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
Penn State College of Medicine’s Office of Graduate Medical Education is holding a personal finance lecture series for residents, fellows and students. This session on “Retirement Planning and Accounts” will be led by Dr. David Chu, assistant professor of medicine and assistant program director for the Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Determine their financial independence “number.”
- Describe the different tax-advantaged accounts that are available, such as 401(k), 403(b), 457(b), IRAs, 529s, profit-sharing plans, etc.
- Evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of traditional and Roth contributions, and when to use each.
- Create a preliminary plan to achieve their retirement goals.
