Webinar: Inclusion Week 2021 – Implications of the Project1619

Inclusion Week 2021, sponsored by the Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, is a weeklong celebration featuring events that aim to support and foster diversity and inclusion at Penn State Health, Penn State College of Medicine, and the communities those organizations serve. Participants will have the opportunity to learn through meaningful and insightful virtual discussions and presentations on topics that are currently at the forefront of diversity and inclusion.
During this session, Calvin Pearson, Founder of Project 1619 Inc., will discuss the history of Project 1619, address the myths and challenges concerning the NY Times 1619 Project, and give us an insight on the history of the first Africans in English North America and their quest for freedom.
The session will be held via Zoom. Webinar links will be provided in advance of the event for those who register.
