Webinar: Interpretation services at Penn State Health
July 20, 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm
This virtual meeting will be a discussion of Penn State Health’s interpretation services, which are becoming increasingly more important as the health system’s patient population is becoming increasingly diverse and speaks many languages.
“I want to generate ideas for how we can implement a best-in-class, systemwide interpreter program,” said Lynette Chappell-Williams, chief diversity officer and associate dean of diversity, equity and inclusion for Penn State Health and College of Medicine.
Guests will include Emmanuel Chepkwony, system director of Cultural and Linguistic Services at Advocate Aurora Health of Milwaukee, who will explain how he developed an interpreter program for his organization. Staff from Hershey Medical Center and St. Joseph Medical Center will discuss how they work with interpreters.
The discussion will develop ideas for both improving current services and providing interpreter services at all locations throughout Penn State Health.
