Webinar: Pennsylvania and Climate Change – What Does the Future Hold?

November 9, 2020, 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm

The effects of climate change are already being felt across the Pennsylvania in the form of more severe weather, flooding, changes in forests and other ecosystems and human health impacts. How the commonwealth responds over the next decade will determine how severe those impacts become, and a key to success will be the leaders of tomorrow – today’s college students.

During this event, students are invited to join Department of Conservation and Natural Resources personnel in a conversation about Pennsylvania’s changing climate and the role they can play in helping to shape Pennsylvania’s future.

Students will learn about DCNR’s adaptation and mitigation efforts. These include conservation at a landscape level; retaining and planting forests, urban trees and stream buffers for carbon sequestration and water quality; high-performance building and renewable energy use; sustainable transportation; connecting young people to the outdoors; and adapting to different demands and seasons for recreation.
