Webinar: Public Health Preparedness Seminar – ‘The National Guard’s Role in Public Health Preparedness during the COVID-19 Pandemic’

About the presentation: In this presentation, I will discuss the role of the National Guard during COVID-19 pandemic response across all 54 U.S. states and territories.  The presentation will focus on the collaborations between the Air and Army National Guard with their state’s public and private public health partners over the past 2 years. The types of COVID-19 response covered during the presentation will be: COVID-19 testing, contact tracing, vaccine distribution and administration, and hospital surge capacity.

About the presenter: Jaymie Brooks Dumproff currently works as the Air National Guard (ANG) COVID-19 Public Health Officer in the Office of the ANG Surgeon General, Joint Base Andrews, MD. In this role, she serves as the lead COVID-19 Advisor for 90 ANG units across all 54 U.S. states and territories. She is also a part-time third year Doctor of Public Health candidate at Johns Hopkins University, working on her degree in the Environmental Health concentration, Health Security track. Her dissertation is on the role of the National Guard in Public Health Emergency Response, using the COVID-19 pandemic as her case study. She holds an MPH from Nova Southeastern University, an MS and BSE in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from Florida Atlantic University.  Prior to her current position, she served in ANG emergency response at the Crisis Action Team (CAT) Operations Officer for multiple hurricane responses and the Afghan humanitarian response. She also worked at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in biosafety and biosecurity for their laboratories, including their high containment laboratories.
