DESCRIPTION:Join us for a performance by the Steve Rudolph Quartet.  This performance will feature Steve Rudolph on the piano. Steve is a local jazz legend who was inducted into the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame in 2023 and is the founder of the Central PA Friends of Jazz. Tom Strohman will be playing the woodwinds. Tom has been the bandleader of Third Stream for over 40 years and is Professor Emeritus at Lebanon Valley College where he teaches saxophone and Jazz Studies and directed their Jazz Band for many years. Kevin MacConnell will be playing the acoustic bass. Kevin is an internationally renowned bassist who has performed with celebrated musicians and continues to tour the country with the Philadelphia-based classical/bluegrass ensemble The DePue Brothers Band. Tom Cohen will be playing the drums. Tom has been a staple on the Philadelphia music scene for over 40 ears and has served as adjunct professor of music at Temple University and led concerts and workshops in Latin music for the Philly Pops.  \nPlease register with Aleax Olivera to attend.

DESCRIPTION:The Kristen Olewine Milke CARE Center at Penn State Cancer Institute offers Moving Through Cancer With CARE\, a one-hour group-based exercise class for cancer patients and survivors. The class is held virtually (on Zoom) every other Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. Each session begins right where you are in terms of balance\, strength\, and physical conditioning. DESCRIPTION:The Kristen Olewine Milke CARE Center at Penn State Cancer Institute offers patients and loved ones the SurviveWELL program. \nWhat does it mean to be “well”?  How might we treat ourselves “well” even when we are ill or having a “bad day”? SurviveWELL – this program\, the community of participants\, the practices\, and the monthly themes – are offered in support of treating ourselves well. Doing so on a regular basis represents important acts of kindness for one’s self in service of self-care. \nSurviveWELL consists of weekly one-hour sessions over the course of six months. All sessions are conducted virtually via Zoom\, which supports joining wherever participants are able to access the internet. The program strives to support patients in greater health and wellness during the active phase of treatment for cancer and beyond. Each session is facilitated by professional(s) with expertise in wellness coaching\, nutrition\, yoga\, mindfulness and energy work | qigong\, respectively. Participants are encouraged to invite a wellness partner to join them for each of the sessions. \nSurviveWELL is held every Tuesday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.\, offered in 6-month sessions each year: January-June and July-December.  Feel welcome to begin or join at any time. \nFor more information or to register for an upcoming session\, please call the CARE Center at 1-888-531-6585 (option 6). Pollock Center for Addiction Outreach and Research\, Penn State Harrisburg. \nThis presentation will present findings from qualitative interviews with family members who have lost a loved one to accidental overdose\, highlighting how stigma shapes their experiences of grief\, isolation\, and meaning-making. The talk will also discuss improving how families are connected to supportive\, accessible resources during bereavement and beyond. \nThis seminar will be recorded.
