By the numbers: Penn State Hershey at the 2014 PA Farm Show
Penn State Hershey Medical Center connected with thousands of people at the 2014 PA Farm Show. Visitors who stopped by the Penn State Hershey booth took part in blood pressure screenings and received information on a variety of health and wellness topics. They were also encouraged to sign the NO TXT ZONE pledge. Again this year, Penn State Hershey nurses teamed up with the Pennsylvania Department of Health to give out free flu shots. And nearly 400 people jumped on a treadmill and helped us “Reach the Beach” by traveling more than 320 miles – the distance from Harrisburg to Virginia Beach.
Here's a glance at Penn State Hershey's week at the farm show, by the numbers:
Total Penn State Hershey staff involved: 206
Number of flu shots given: 2,115
“No Text and Drive” pledges signed: 1,205
Blood pressure screenings: 416
“Reach the Beach” participants: 380
