Outpatient Neurology Clinic Team Improves Patient Access

Penn State Hershey employees were inspired to improve our outpatient Neurology Clinic growing patient access needs. At times over the past year patients faced up to a one year wait just to get an initial appointment. The situation was unworkable for patients and staff alike. Patient demand for outpatient neurology services exceeds the number of available neurologists. The problem is not unique to Penn State Hershey since skilled neurologists are in demand nationwide. Meeting patient demand for outpatient neurology required thinking differently about how patients could get the care they needed. Physicians and staff in neurology focused on a team-driven approach to fixing the problem.
