Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic distributes 2,000 vaccines to the community

More than 170 volunteers from the Department of Nursing and across Penn State Hershey Medical Center, including the Nittany Lion, distributed more than 2,000 free flu shots to the community during two Saturday Drive-Thru Flu Clinics on October 17 and 24. Flu shots were provided at no cost to the participants who could remain in their vehicles to receive the vaccine.
The clinic was held in the employee parking lot behind the Academic Support Building. Motorists were directed into one of four lanes where staff collected consent forms, answered questions and administered the shots. Pediatric nurses and a Kids' Corner, staffed by Child Life, worked with families to ensure that children had a positive experience while receiving their vaccines.
