Medical Center and Teamsters reach three-year agreement for 2016-2019

Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Teamsters Local 776 reached a new three-year collective bargaining agreement, effective July 1, 2016, through June 30, 2019.The Medical Center’s Teamster-represented employees ratified the tentative agreement late yesterday—an agreement that covers approximately 900 Medical Center employees who work in various fields including food services, patient transport, housekeeping, facilities and other technical services.

“This agreement recognizes the important contributions of our Teamster-represented staff.  It is positive for our employees and those we serve,” said Alan Brechbill, executive director of Penn State Hershey Medical Center. “This multi-year contract provides competitive wages and benefits for our employees and ensures our continued focus on our missions of patient care, research, education, and service to our community.”

The new agreement provides guaranteed wage increases for employees in each of the three contract years along with a competitive health care benefits package.
