Hershey Medical Center, PinnacleHealth respond to appeals court ruling on proposed merger

Today we learned that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit has ruled in favor of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office (AG). The Court overturned the May 9 decision by Federal Judge John Jones, and in doing so granted the FTC and AG an injunction to prevent the integration of the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and PinnacleHealth.

We are disappointed by the Court's ruling. Over the next several days the leadership and respective boards of both organizations will carefully review the decision, and together we will determine our next course of action.
