Cookie That Cares campaign raises an additional $31,000 for THON and Four Diamonds
Central Pennsylvania Subway Restaurants this week presented a check for more than $31,000 to THON and Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. The sum represents proceeds from the Cookie That Cares campaign that was conducted at the nearly 300 restaurants throughout February.
The restaurants featured the Rainbow Gem cookie as the Cookie That Cares, donating a quarter from the sale of every cookie sold to the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon and Four Diamonds. A total of 136,000 of the featured cookies were sold throughout the month.
Subway presented the check at a Mardi Gras-themed party this week in the lobby of the Children's Hospital.
Combined with two similar Cookie That Cares initiatives last year, Subway has raised more than $80,000 for THON and Four Diamonds since the beginning of 2016.
THON's sole beneficiary is Four Diamonds, which works to conquer childhood cancer by leading the discovery of new and improved treatments for childhood cancer and ensuring that every child treated for cancer at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital has no out-of-pocket costs.
