Farmers Market in Hershey embarks on eighth season
The Farmers Market in Hershey and Summer Concert Series begins its eighth season from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 18 with a community arts fest. The event will feature local artists, many from the Hershey Area Art Association, placed throughout the market selling and speaking to the public about their work. Artwork from Hershey High School students will be on display inside the Cocoa Beanery all week. Several local authors will be on hand for a book signing event.
Garry Cogdell, blues guitarist in residence at the renowned St. Georges Country Store in Delaware, will perform from 3 to 5 p.m. and singer-songwriter Jess Kline will play from 6 to 8 p.m. as part of the concert series, held the third Thursday of the month on the Cocoa Beanery lawn
Vendors attending opening day include Renewal Kombucha, Wild For Salmon, Thom’s Bread, Little Peace Farm, Shady Acres Farm, Healthy Suds, From the Garden, Rafiki Deli, Linden Dale Farm, Sunnyside Farm, TorchBearer Sauces and Countrytrail Soy Candles.

The market is open from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. every Thursday with more than 20 vendors selling a wide variety of fresh, local produce, pastured poultry, grass-fed meats and wild caught salmon. Local breads, cheeses, baked goods and kombucha are also available. New vendors for this year include Sunshine Bakery, MycoSymbiotics LLC and BOOM Crafted Pickles of Hershey.
