Hersheypark to host 5K run and fun walk to conquer childhood cancer

Registration is now open for the Conquer Run 5K, a competitive run and fun walk that benefits Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. Individual runners and teams are invited to participate in this year's event, which will take place on Saturday, Sept. 23 at Hersheypark. Runners and walkers of all ages and skill levels are welcome. Discounted registration is open through July 31 at ConquerRun.org, but the event is expected to sell out. Hersheypark Stadium will be open to spectators free of charge on the day of the event.

Runners and walkers will join Four Diamonds child and this year's Conquer Run Hero, Donovan, on a 5K adventure through Hersheypark. Participants will help this brave 7-year-old conquer childhood cancer by collecting each of the four diamonds – courage, wisdom, honesty and strength – along the course. The diamonds symbolize the attributes needed to conquer childhood cancer. Learn more about the history of Four Diamonds.

In the United States, more children die from cancer than any other disease – more than asthma, cystic fibrosis, diabetes and pediatric AIDS combined. Treatment outcomes for children with cancer have made tremendous improvements over the past 50 years, but one in five children with cancer will still die of their disease within five years. Four Diamonds is working to save all children from this illness.

Sponsorship opportunities for this event range from $1,000 to $10,000 and can be customized to meet an organization's needs. Four Diamonds offers sponsors meaningful engagement opportunities through this event, as well as the chance to make a direct impact in the lives of children and their families.
