‘An American Salute' set for July 3 on Medical Center lawn
The annual Independence Day celebration on the front lawn of Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center will be presented on Monday, July 3. The public is invited to “An American Salute,” a performance by the Hershey Symphony Orchestra. This group of accomplished musicians is one of the nation's largest volunteer orchestras with more than 80 members. The concert will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Admission and parking are free. Food and beverages will be available for purchase starting at 6 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets to sit on during the concert. There will be a wellness activity for children from 6 to 7 p.m. on the front lawn.
The first half of the concert will feature selections from the Broadway smash “Hamilton,” a few John Williams pieces – including ‘Star Wars' – and a medley of Sinatra hits. For the second half of the concert, the orchestra will present “A Salute to America,” accompanied by Hershey Symphony Orchestra vocalists. These selections will celebrate America and provide a special tribute to the military.
This An American Salute concert, in its 14th year, is sponsored by the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Penn State College of Medicine, The Hershey Lodge, Sutliff Chevrolet and Hershey Symphony Orchestra.
