Santa connects with patients at Children's Hospital
Two-year-old Mina Horan left little doubt as to why she came barging in to the Family Resource Center at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital: “I came to see Santa!”
Mina was among the children who had the opportunity to pass along their wishes directly to Santa via a video monitor and web-enabled camera. The hospital's Child Life Program and Cisco Systems arranged for the connection between the North Pole and the Children's Hospital.
Mina talked with Santa about her love for baking and playing with Play-Doh. When St. Nick asked what she would like for Christmas, Mina had her answer ready: a purple iPad and a train.
Through the use of iPads, Santa also made virtual bedside visits with children who didn't feel well enough to leave their rooms.
This marked the seventh consecutive year in which Cisco's Santa Connection program made a stop in Hershey.
