Pay 4 Play to benefit Children’s Hospital sets new record
The 12th annual People’s Pay 4 Play on WQXA-FM 105.7 The X on Nov. 8 and 9 raised a record-breaking $265,010 for Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. That brings the event’s 12-year fundraising tally to $1,720,893 and represents a 10 percent increase over last year.
Jen Shade, Nipsey and Earl David Reed from The People’s Morning Show hosted the 28-hour event. Listeners made donations in exchange for song requests.
“We are simply amazed by the community’s continued support of this special event. We would like to thank WQXA-FM, their listeners, local businesses, event sponsors, volunteers and patients and their families,” said Danielle Sunday, director of Children’s Miracle Network. “These funds will support life-saving equipment, family-centered programs and innovative research at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital to give sick and injured children in our community the #GiftofGrowingUp.”
