Children’s Hospital donates 60 bike helmets to Lebanon school students
Dozens of children in the Lebanon School District will benefit from a donation of 60 bike helmets from Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. The helmets were given to children in need at each of the district’s five elementary schools, with a goal of keeping them safe over the summer.
Dr. Erich Batra, a Penn State Health physician, presented the helmets during a talk on summer safety to fourth graders at Henry Houck Elementary School.
Batra has made the safety presentation at the school a tradition for more than 15 years, and he typically brings a few bike helmets with him each year. But this year, support from the hospital’s Pediatric Trauma and Injury Prevention Program made the broader donation possible.
