Four Diamonds Mini-THON to receive $90,000 donation from PSECU
PSECU has pledged to provide $90,000 to Four Diamonds Mini-THON over the next three years. The funding from the credit union will help cover the costs of Mini-THON’s online fundraising platform, which Mini-THON schools and participants can customize and share with their personal networks to raise money for childhood cancer awareness and research.
“On behalf of our more than 450,000 members, PSECU is thrilled to support the people-focused, charitable work of youth in communities throughout Pennsylvania and beyond through involvement with Mini-THON. As the students dance toward their goal, we’ll be cheering them on!” said PSECU President George Rudolph.
Four Diamonds Mini-THONs are multi-hour, fun-filled events for students in grades kindergarten through 12 that inspire teamwork, leadership and creativity, while empowering children and young adults through philanthropy and community service in the fight against childhood cancer at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. Mini-THONs are modeled after the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON) and have been making a difference in the lives of childhood cancer patients and their families since 1993.
With more than 90,000 student volunteers and 265 schools participating, Mini-THONs bring hope to families in need and give back to their local communities. During the 2018-19 school year, participating elementary schools, middle schools and high schools raised more than $7.2 million for Four Diamonds.
“We’re honored to have PSECU join us as a partner,” said Four Diamonds Mini-THON Director Kristen Masengarb. “Their support will help us continue building the next generation of leaders and philanthropists who are committed to conquer childhood cancer in our community and around the world.”
In addition to sponsorship of the Mini-THON Donor Drive Page, PSECU works with several Mini-THON schools throughout the state by offering financial support.
