Nittany Lions score smiles in virtual visit to Hershey Medical Center

Steven Krause of Reading gets a virtual visit from Michal Menet and other members of the Penn State Nittany Lion football team in the Heart and Vascular Institute Critical Care Unit at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

For several years, the Penn State football team has made a surprise summer visit to Penn State Health Children’s Hospital and the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. This year, because of COVID-19, the Nittany Lions spread cheer virtually through a special Facebook Live event on July 14.

Through Facebook, players and coaches read books and played games with patients. Meantime, other players used Zoom to visit privately with inpatients at the Children’s Hospital and Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
