State health leader joins Penn State Health in urging flu vaccinations
Dr. Cindy Whitener, chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, joined Sarah Boateng, State Executive Deputy Secretary of Health, at the University Conference Center to urge everyone who is able to get a flu vaccination this year to do so.
Whitener and Boateng noted that by getting a flu shot, people can lower their risk of contracting influenza, and stressed the critical importance of getting vaccinated amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
During the event, Lori Bechtel, a nurse manager at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, gave Boateng a flu shot.
