Levine leads Office for Professional Mental Health
Dr. Martha Peaslee Levine, associate professor of pediatrics, psychiatry and humanities, has been named director of the Office for Professional Mental Health at Penn State College of Medicine, effective Jan. 1 after serving as interim director since March 2021.
Levine has been actively involved in promoting wellness through mindfulness and journaling workshops for both students and faculty. She has been awarded two grants through the Office of Faculty and Professional Development to help faculty stress during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, she has implemented plans for emotional assistance and wellness initiatives for students, residents, fellows and faculty. She also served as medical director of the Eating Disorders Young Adult Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs.
