‘Gaming for Miracles’ raised more than $2800 for Children’s Miracle Network
The inaugural ‘Gaming for Miracles,’ an event hosted by Penn State College of Medicine’s Games Club, raised more than $2800 for Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital.
A collaborative effort between College of Medicine students and the Extra Life Program, the event provided a unique and interactive opportunity to make a meaningful effort through gaming for good. Students facilitated video game tournaments and board games during the event on Sept. 14 during the College of Medicine’s annual Alumni Weekend.
“These students take something that they love and are giving back to a cause that is near and dear to their hearts,” said Jennifer Gulbrandsen, assistant director of Children’s Miracle Network Extra Life Hershey Program. “We are so grateful for their effort and their support.”
Extra Life is a fundraising program of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Donations from this event will fund critical life-saving treatments, healthcare services, innovative research and vital pediatric medical equipment at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital, where many College of Medicine students are already making a difference through their work.
