A Century After Nanook

This documentary, directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker and Penn State University Professor of Anthropology Kirk French, examines the profound environmental and cultural transformations experienced by the Inuit community of Inukjuak over the past century.
A Century After Nanook dives deep into the many traumas experienced by Inukjuakmiut due to colonialism, as well as the devastating effects of Arctic warming. At the same time, the film also highlights the strength, adaptiveness, and ingenuity of the community that provides real hope for a better future. This powerful and timely documentary was recently accepted by PBS and aired throughout the United States.
