Peripheral artery disease happens when fatty deposits build up and narrow the blood vessels in your legs or arms. Symptoms include cramping and pain, especially when you walk. Learn how supervised exercise therapy can help from Penn State Health clinical exercise physiologist Allison Cannon.

Allison Cannon is a clinical exercise physiologist and certified health coach who specializes in cardiac rehabilitation for cardiovascular conditions, including peripheral artery disease. After earning her master’s degree in cardiac rehabilitation and exercise science from East Stroudsburg University, she worked at North Penn Hospital in Lansdale, now Jefferson Lansdale Hospital, and Jefferson Abington Hospital, Abington. Allison joined Penn State Health in 2007 and sees patients at Penn State Health Spring Ridge Outpatient Center, Wyomissing.
