Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute has announced its Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD) Research Methods Seminar Series schedule for the spring 2025 semester. CTSI BERD Webinar: “Can we use artificial intelligence (AI) for our qualitative analysis? Advantages and disadvantages to leveraging AI for qualitative research in 2025” will be held April 21.

Learning Objectives:

  1. To understand the traditional process of human qualitative data analysis
  2. To discover how Artificial intelligence plays a role in qualitative data analysis
  3. Describe the advantages and disadvantages to using artificial intelligence for qualitative analysis (in 2025)

This presentation will examine the use of artificial intelligence in qualitative research analysis. Starting with an overview of traditional qualitative data analysis methods, the discussion will then explore how AI is changing this process. The presentation will address both the advantages and disadvantages of using AI for qualitative research in 2025, helping researchers understand when and how AI tools might be effectively used in their work.
